The Pearls of Wisdom Foundation was founded in 2004 by members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Pi Theta Omega Chapter. Pearls of Wisdom Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) organization established for educational and charitable purposes, including to exercise, promote, and protect the privileges and interests of the residents of Morris County, New Jersey; to foster a healthy interest in the civic affairs of the community; to develop good citizenship; to help young people receive a higher education; to increase the motivation of youth; to provide scholarships, awards and/or sustenance grants; to sponsor seminars and programs that are actively engaged in promoting training and educational activities. Monies deposited into this fund shall be disbursed in the form of charitable contributions including, but not limited to, donations to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, educational scholarships, and funding of non-profit community activities, projects, or fundraisers.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated ® – Pi Theta Omega Chapter was chartered on May 31, 1986. This marked the establishment of the first African- American Greek Letter organization in Morristown, NJ and the beginning of what will be a long legacy of Alpha Kappa Alpha sisterhood and service to the community. For almost 40 years, Pi Theta Omega has offered scholarships to students and provided educational programs to the Morris County area.
